Alachua County - Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center

The Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center offers a program to help anyone who is a victim or survivor of violence. Victims do NOT have to report to law enforcement to receive services. All services are free and confidential.

Services Include:

  • Immediate outreach to victims of sexual battery
  • Face-to-face and telephone counseling
  • Support groups
  • Accompany and support victims through criminal justice proceedings
  • Transportation to court appearances and other appointments related to the victimization
  • Assist with application process for Victims Compensation and relocation for Sexual Assault Victims
  • Assistance with Protective Injunctions
  • Emergency assistance with urgent special needs
  • Personal advocacy
  • Information and referral
  • Community education, speeches, and consultation
  • Network with other victim service providers and state organization
  • Outreach services provided in the Gainesville Police Department
  • HIV Test Site

High Springs Social Services Center, Inc. - Social Services

High Springs Social Services Center, Inc. provides a many social services to those in need within the community.

A full list of services they provide follows:

  • Assistance to Elderly, Retarded and Illiterates when Applying for Benefits
  • Clothes Closet
  • Distribution of USDA Commodities - Monthly
  • Food Pantry
  • Has developed, maintains and distributes "Helpcard"
  • Help Transients with gasoline vouchers and bag lunches
  • Mental Health Division (state of Florida) provides counseling once a month at the center
  • Reading Program for Functionally Illiterate Adults
  • Referral to Medical, Labor and Addiction Services
  • Registers Children for "Headstart" program
  • Registers Clients for USDA commodities
  • Serves as a coordination center for family crises
  • Works with Alachua County Courts (Community service)

St. Francis House - Food & Shelter
