Florida Department of Education - McKay Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

The McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities gives students with special needs the chance to attend a private school. The program is for students in grades K-12. Please see the website for more information.

Hubbard House - Children's Services

Children who live with violence are impacted by that violence--whether they were physically abused or not. HH helps them understand that violence is not their fault. They help children know what they can do should they be in danger and help them understand and express their feelings. Children learn nonviolent conflict resolution skills so the violence will not be repeated in the next generation. Please see the website for more information.

Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc.

Sulzbacher Center

This agency is Northeast Florida’s largest provider of emergency shelter for homeless men, women and children. The shelter is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They serve nutritious meals and offer safe shelter. They provide outstanding health care and high-quality children’s programs. They offer job placement help and life skills programs. The Boselli Foundation - Youth Life Learning Centers

This agency strives to help children who live in at-risk areas on the north side of Jacksonville. The Youth Life Learning Centers focus on providing children after-school learning services. They are currently serving children up to the sixth grade. Each year the center adds another grade level so children can remain in the program until graduation. During the school year, the centers are open from 3:00pm to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. There is also a 6-week day camp during the summer. Children receive tutoring and have computer access. There are also a number of activities such as field trips, dance lessons and sports. There are currently two locations. Please see the website for more information.

Trinity Rescue Mission

Trinity Rescue Mission provides many services to those in need. There is an overnight shelter for homeless men. They can get meals, showers and fresh clothing. There are also programs for those with substance abuse issues. The Women and Children's Center provides safe shelter while women rebuild their lives. There are services for those with drug or alcohol issues. TRM is also launching an organic farming program in St. Johns County. Please see the website for more information.

Women's Help Center - Pregnancy Services

Founded in 1990, Women’s Help Center is a locally organized and funded outreach. They provide a variety of free services and programs to meet the needs of their clients. All services are offered free of charge.
