Boys Town - North Florida - Transitional Housing

Boys Town offers housing for youth who cannot remain in their own homes. Married couples care for the children in a traditional home setting. There are three homes for boys and two for girls in the Tallahassee area. Many of these children have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect and need a safe place to stay. Youth form a family and learn social and independent living skills that will help them in the future. The ultimate goal is to reunite each child with his or her family, whenever possible.

CDS - Bronson Head Start

Head Start and Early Head Start are federal and state funded social service programs. The Head Start/Early Head Start Program is a free program for children during the day. It allows parents to continue their education or gain/maintain employment. Children enrolled in the program receive health and developmental screenings. Please see the website for more information.

Early Learning Coalition of the Nature Coast - Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

The goal of Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) is to prepare all children age 4 for kindergarten. The program gives each child the chance to perform better in school and throughout life. The classes have smaller class size, appropriate curricula and substantial learning periods. The program is free. Please see the website for more information.

Florida Dept. of Children and Families - Kathy's All Things Day Care & Learning Center

This day care has a sliding scale fee program. They offer a VPK program for 4-year-olds. You may check the DCF website for an inspection report.
