Center for Independent Living of North Central Florida - Employment Services

This agency helps people with disabilities with a broad range of services. The goal is to enable them to live as independently as possible. Sign language interpreting services are available. Some Medicaid recipients may be eligible to transfer from a nursing home to their own home.

Department Of Corrections - Lake City Circuit Office - Re-Entry Program

Inmates in Florida have the chance to participate in a number of re-entry programs that will benefit them upon release. The goal is to reduce the number of repeat offenders. Seminars give them information about jobs, social services, housing and more. Please call for more information.

  • Adult education (ABE/GED)
  • Substance abuse residential therapeutic community

Division of Vocational Rehabilitation - Supported Employment

This agency offers Supported Employment. Services are for those with disabilities. They help those who need ongoing support services. This will help them succeed in employment. Please call for more information.

Support may include:

  • Arranging transportation
  • Developing natural supports and assistive technology, if needed, to permanent job duties
  • Placement, training or retraining the supported worker

The Arc North Florida, Inc. - Employment Services

The Arc provides services for people with developmental disabilities. There are conditions for approval. The client must desire services. They must also be approved by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The Arc admissions committee must also approve. Please see the website for more information.
