Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches - Residential Care Services (Region 2)

FSYR offers a warm, caring home to youth in need. It is for those children who, for whatever reason, cannot remain in their own homes. It is for children ages 8 through 18. Youth are cared for by "cottage parents" who help them develop a strong work ethic, sense of teamwork and self respect. Each child must be recommended by the local Sheriff. Habitat For Humanity - Housing

Criteria for being chosen:

I have a need

  • I am currently living in substandard housing
  • I do not own my own home

I have the ability to pay

  • I do not have excessive credit card debt or multiple bills in collection
  • I have not declared bankruptcy or had a foreclosure within the past 3 years
  • I pay my rent on time

I am willing to partner with Habitat

  • Attend Habitat homeowner training classes
  • Contribute 250 hours of "sweat equity"
  • I am willing to live in an area where Habitat has homes
  • Pay $1200 towards closing costs
