2-1-1 Crisis Hotline - Hillsborough

Dialing 2-1-1 provides a hotline to emergency help and crisis information. This includes a wide range of counseling services. Volunteers can refer you to resources in the area.
Just dial 2-1-1 on your telephone to reach a certified counselor. Help is available 24 hours a day.

Access Florida - Food Stamps, Temporary Cash Assistance, and Medicaid

The Food Stamp Program helps people with low income to buy healthy food. The application can be done online. Please see the website for your local service center. The application is also used for Temporary Cash Assistance, Medicaid, and all other Dept of Children and Families services.

You can view the application in English, Haitian-Creole, or Spanish.

Adult Day Care Centers - Hillsborough County

This Center provides health, social, supportive and therapeutic day services for persons 60 years of age and over. There are also services for those with memory disorders. An initial intake and home assessement required. Please call the center for details.

Community Care for the Elderly In-Home Services

This program provides support services in the home to frail residents 60 years and older. It lets them remain in their homes rather than face nursing home placement.
Elders can get help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming and more.

Family Stabilization - Hillsborough

This program offers a variety of services. They are designed to help families meet basic needs and be self sufficient. Economic aid is designed to calm severe financial and emotional crises.Case management services help people make a budget and manage their personal resources. Services are open to all regardless of income.

Food Pantry -- St. Anne Catholic Church, Ruskin

This food pantry donates food every 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays. The church distributes food to over 240 individual families monthly.

To receive food, families/individuals need to have proof of residence and number living in the household; although the homeless and migrant workers are also welcome.

Office hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please call the office to confirm times.

Interpreters can be arranged for those who don't speak English.
