Career Resource Center -- CDC of Tampa

This program provides job services to low and moderate income individuals. It is aimed at those facing the greatest barriers to employment. This may be due to limited training and skills or ex-offender status. It may include TANF clients and non-custodial parents.

The Program includes:

  • Career counseling
  • Customer followup
  • Job readiness/skills training
  • Job referrals and placement
  • Resume building and computer literacy

Direct Job Placement/Supported Employment for the Blind

This program provides employment services to persons who are blind or visually impaired. The goal is to place job seekers into jobs that are compatible with their interests and abilities. Services could also include direct training at the job site, followup and help with issues that have an impact on the job. This includes issues such as transportation, housing and referrals to local resources.

Employment Opportunity Program

Case workers can help job seekers with employment. They will assess the client for all needs and work with him or her for the best plan of action.

Services include:

  • Incentive payments for job-related purchases
  • Match applicants to available jobs
  • Referrals to other emergency services
  • Removal of potential employment barriers
  • Resumé and job application assistance
  • Same day 1-on-1 employment coaching
  • Training and retraining opportunities
  • Weekly job readiness workshops and networking

Employment Services/Success Strategies -- The Centre

This program helps women prepare for and get jobs. Counselors help clients develop career plans, address emotional issues, build problem-solving skills and more. Their goal is to promote self sufficiency in women.

  • Personal & Professional Development Workshops

Goodwill - IMPACT Employment Services - Hillsborough

This program provides short-term services to people who have difficulty getting or keeping a job due to a disability. It provides businesses with applicants who are ready to work and are matched to job skills.

The program offers vocational options, job search and on-the-job training by a job coach. The client gets follow-up services for up to 90 days to ensure job retention.

Services are available in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco counties.
