Big Bend Cares provides Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA). Limited help is given with transitional housing, rent/mortgage and utilities. It’s for people living with HIV/AIDS. Capital Area Community Action Agency offers the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The LIHEAP assists low-income households in meeting the costs of utility payments and crisis assistance. Benefit amount is based on National Poverty guidelines. ECHO - Family Services Program

ECHO provides short-term housing through their Family Services Program. Homeless families with minor children receive services to help them move toward employment and permanent housing. Case management support services are mandatory for all our residents. Residents must attend a multitude of educational seminars and classes. After school programs, tutoring, summer camps and monthly birthday parties provide special support to the children. Please contact for more information.
