Free Legal Services - Bay Area Legal Services

This agency provides free legal services in Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sarasota Counties. They do not handle criminal or traffic cases. They do not handle Workers Comp claims. Please see the website for all services.

Goodwill - Supported Living

Goodwill-Suncoast has 5 apartment complexes. They offer affordable living options in their service area. The Freedom Village apartments are barrier-free for people with disabilities. The Heritage Oaks apartments are designed for people who are at least 62 years old and with low income. Applications are available at each complex. There may be a waiting list. Please call the office of your choice to check availability.

Independent Living Skills Training - Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind

This is an 8-week course for those who have recently lost part or all of their vision. It provides clients with the skills needed to perform daily living tasks independently. The training program gives instruction in several areas including Braille, money handling and phone dialing. Students will learn about handwriting guides, adaptive cooking skills and household cleaning skills.

Project Return - Educational Center/Supportive Housing

Project Return helps persons with mental illness find safe and affordable housing. Counselors help with medication, crisis support and home visits. Those who wish may live at Friendship Palms, PR’s own apartment complex. Educational and personal enrichment opportunities are available as well. Clients can get help with getting and keeping a job.
