All Children's Hospital - Child Life Services

The goal of this program is to reduce the stress a child has during a hospital stay. Specially trained Child Life Specialists work to help the child learn coping skills. They use play therapy to help the child understand and cope with their upcoming medical procedures. They assist the siblings of a child who has died and help them to understand and say good-bye. The team also works with families and help parents to cope with the challenges of parenting a sick child.

All Children's Specialty Care - Early Steps Early Intervention Program

This program has early intervention services for children from birth to age 3. They are referred by family, doctors or area agencies due to suspected developmental delays. Early Steps services are based on evaluations and the family's concerns, resources and goals. Services are provided where the family and child live, learn and play. Most services will be early intervention home visits.

ALS - Care Assist Program

This agency provides a full range of services to people with ALS. Newly diagnosed clients can go to the website to register and find support groups. They can get temporary loaner medical equipment at no cost. The Care Assist Program helps families get discounts for nondurable medical equipment. They can also get grants for home and van modificatons.

Alzheimer's Family Organization - Emergency Placement Program

The AFO offers this service to members to help ease the minds of caregivers. This program helps the caregiver name an alternate caregiver for the memory impaired person in a crisis. They can help you decide if an assisted living facility meets the needs of your loved one. AFO has a resource list of helpful contact information.

Alzheimer's Family Organization - Pasco County Support Groups

AFO has several local support groups in Pasco County. They are open to AFO members and the general public. They provide support, encouragement and aid to caregivers. Brochures, literature and books are available. Please call the office for times.
