DCF - Foster Care

DCF has foster care services for children in need. They stay in a safe home when they have been abused or neglected. Sometimes they are placed with a relative. Adults who wish to become foster parents can get training through their local community based care agency. Please see the website for more information.

Florida Department of Education - McKay Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

The McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities gives students with special needs the chance to attend a private school. The program is for students in grades K-12. Please see the website for more information.

Florida KidCare

The state of Florida offers health insurance for children from birth through age 18, even if one or both parents are working. It includes four different parts.

Meridian Behavioral Healthcare - Child & Youth Services

This program is under the Florida Department of Education. SEDNET networks with the education, mental health and child welfare systems. They work with the families of children with mental, emotional and behavioral problems. The goal is for youth to have access to the services they need to succeed in life. Suwannee Valley Community Coordinated Child Care

Suwannee Valley 4C's strives to meet the early learning needs of each child. Every child receives a variety of learning experiences that enhance his/her cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth. It is for children ages 0 to 5. The aim is to develop early learning habits in children so they will be ready to start school. They will also get health services including dental care and prenatal care for expectant mothers.
