DISC Village

This agency provides prevention, intervention, and treatment of substance abuse issues. There are programs for adults and youth. School based programs strive to prevent drug use. There are online counseling services for adults who may have difficult using traditional services. Independent living services help foster care youth better prepare to live on their own. Lutheran Social Services of North Florida - InnBetween Transitional Housing

This program helps the homeless find a permanent home. A client may stay for up to 18 months in a house in the Tallahassee area. A counselor and case manager work with each family to develop a case plan for the future. They are referred to the program by other homeless services. Please see the website for more information.

The case plan may include:

  • Budget counseling
  • Case management
  • Getting a GED if needed
  • Education through Tallahassee Community College
  • Job training programs

Refuge House

This agency serves all people affected by domestic and sexual violence in the Big Bend area. They offer support and resources. They can help with emergency shelter and counseling. They offer transitional housing for families and single clients. There are resources for legal help. If you need a safety plan to leave an abusive relationship, a phone counselor can help you.
