WIC is for low to moderate income women who are pregnant, have recently had a baby or are breastfeeding. It is also for infants and children up to age 5 who may be at nutritional risk. It doesn’t matter whether you’re working or not working. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. This program is called WIC for short. It is for pregnant women and children up to five years old. WIC provides the following at no cost: healthy foods, nutrition education and counseling, breastfeeding support and referrals for health care. Each eligible family gets an EBT card to use at the grocery store. They also get a list of foods to purchase at the lowest prices.
