Child Care - Community Pride Child Care

Community Pride Child Care serves children from 2 months to 6 years of age from low income, at risk or homeless situations.

  • Breakfast, lunch and snack

Child Care for Homeless Shelter Residents - Community Pride Child Care

The Homeless Program provides up to 45 days of free child care for:

  • Children between 2 months and 5 years of age
  • The children referred to our program should not be attending Pinellas County Schools
  • Who are residing in one of the participating homeless shelters or transitional housing in Pinellas County

Children in the program are placed in a licensed, high quality child care setting close to the shelter where they live. While in child care, the children receive breakfast, lunch, and a snack. They participate in developmentally appropriate activities, and have daily naps and outdoor time.

In addition to child care, parents in the program receive:

  • Access to community resources
  • Information on available child care subsidies
  • Outreach services
  • Referrals to unemployment and training opportunities, affordable housing, supportive counseling and parent education

Children's Home Society of Florida - Gulf Coast

This agency strives to protect children and teens. They provide emergency shelter. They have a foster care program. They can help with adoption. Teens who are aging out of the foster system get skills and training to be self sufficient. Individual and family counseling are available. Please see the website for all services.

Florida Department of Education - McKay Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches offer many opportunities for children in need. Services are for youth ages 8 through 18 years of age. Trained staff nurture youth and provide a warm sense of security and guidance. Counseling services are available for each child. There are programs for their parents as well. Other services include summer camp and a mobile camping program.
