Gainesville Community Ministry provides emergency food. The food is for seniors, the disabled, and those with low income. You may get a 2 day supply of food once a month. You must apply in person. Monday through Thursday, 9AM to 2:30PM. A picture ID and Social Security Card, or Social Security print-out is required. Call or visit the website to learn more.

A temporary food assistance program for individuals and families is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to noon. Every Sunday afternoon there are hot meals available for seniors in need. Gloria Dei Lutheran Church provides a Thrift Store to the community. It’s open Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday; from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Call for more information.
Good Samaritan Society provides Home & Community. They offer shelter and support services to older persons. They allow a range of payment options. Medicaid and Medicare are accepted.
