Food is provided at the Fellowship Hall on Thursday from 10am to 2pm. Those receiving food must register by presenting a valid driver's license or other picture ID on their first visit. This church provides a hot lunch to anyone in need every Monday (God's Kitchen). It is served at Fellowship Hall starting at 11:00am. The church bus will transport any person to the Kitchen upon request. Each Sunday, the Connections group prepares a hot meal that is served at 1:00pm. This church partners with other area churches and runs the SOS Food Pantry. Volunteers collect food weekly and then distribute the food each Thursday morning. Those in need may come to the pantry between 9am and 12noon. Please call for more information.
This church is a host site for Forest Ridge and Citrus Springs Elementary Schools. The program provides weekend food for children who would otherwise go without. Hope volunteers unload food trucks on the last Saturday of the month and pack over 200 backpacks each Wednesday during the school year. They then donate them to the schools. This agency provides free or low-cost meals to homebound seniors who cannot prepare their own food. Services may be free depending on each person's financial needs. Meals are delivered five days a week. They can deliver pet food once a month, usually for dogs and cats. Please call for more information.
This agency has a special outreach to Veterans. They presently have 7 beds allocated just for them. They hope to raise funds for a barracks style Veterans Center to house 20 homeless Vets. Volunteers go out into the nearby woods and bring food and water to the Vets living there. For those who prefer to live in the woods, they can come to the Mission for needed food and supplies or to make a phone call. The Mission uses Celebrate Recovery and other programs for treatment.
