The emergency shelters offer:

  • A safe haven for eligible kids, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • Activities such as arts, crafts and music, to promote positive youth development
  • Family reunification services and case management
  • Health care coordination services to insure access to medical treatment
  • Life skills groups to promote responsibility and independence
  • Mental health counseling
  • Structured daily living programs employing positive behavior modification techniques
  • Substance abuse prevention services

Arnette House, Inc. - Group Homes/Transitional Living

Arnette House, Inc. provides Group Homes/Transitional Living. They operate two Foster Care group homes for six boys and six girls. They focus on the physical and emotional well-being of individual clients. They teach methods for sustaining basic life skills aimed at fostering self-sufficiency.

Youth ages 13 to 17 are provided a healthy and supportive living environment. They meet the basic needs such as food and shelter. They will help in their goal to become self-sufficient once they age out of foster care when they turn 18.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Citrus County - Mentoring Programs

Through BBBS, trained mentors provide guidance for children. The school-based mentoring program brings Littles together with Bigs. It's a way to start a friendship and inspire a child to reach his or her potential. The Sports Mentoring program encourages adults and kids to play and attend sports together.
