Connect Program

Capital Area Healthy Start is dedicated to connecting new or expecting moms and families with community programs that can help them during every stage of parenthood. Our Connect program assists pregnant women, caregivers and families with young children by providing a one-stop entry point for needed services, such as education and support in childbirth, newborn care, parenting, child development, food and nutrition, mental health and financial self-sufficiency.

ECHO - Family Services Program

ECHO provides short-term housing through their Family Services Program. Homeless families with minor children receive services to help them move toward employment and permanent housing. Case management support services are mandatory for all our residents. Residents must attend a multitude of educational seminars and classes. After school programs, tutoring, summer camps and monthly birthday parties provide special support to the children. Please contact for more information.

Elder Care Services, Inc. - Elder Day Stay

Elder Care Services, Inc. provides Elder Day Stay. It is a safe, home-like environment for seniors who are in need of constant supervision. It helps caregivers and families keep their loved one at home rather than face long-term care placement.

  • Socialization with staff, Senior Companion volunteers, fellow Elder Day Stay clients, and community volunteers
  • Intellectual stimulation and orientation activities using current events, music, reminiscing, games and cooking
  • Nutritious lunches and snacks planned by Elder Care Services Registered Dietician
  • Exercise - seated stretching, movement, balance and weight bearing exercises
  • Mobility Assistance as needed with transferring, toileting, along with activities that encourage and maintain independence
  • Medication management by an R.N. or L.P.N.

Other services include summer camp and a mobile camping program.
