The Senior Resource Alliance is called SRA for short. It is run by the Department of Elder Affairs. SRA is a resource center. It helps find resources on both a state and federal level. EyeCare America’s Senior Program helps seniors aged 65 and older protect their vision. It connects them with local, volunteer eye doctors. They can get a free eye exam and follow-up care for up to one year. Follow-up care is for any condition found during the initial eye exam. Visit the website to learn more.
People who are disabled due to injury or disease may qualify for an assistance dog. These highly trained dogs are able to assist with many tasks. There are 4 types of assistance dogs:

SHINE volunteers help Seniors with health insurance questions. They provide free information and unbiased counseling. Get Help with questions about: Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicaid, Prescription assistance, Long-term care insurance, and Medicare fraud. Meet with a SHINE volunteer at area counseling sites or by telephone. We can do home visits for those who are housebound.

Adult shots are available for a fee. Medicaid is accepted for eligible persons 19-20 years of age. Medicare will be accepted for Flu and Pneumonia. Immunizations are given on a walk-in basis only. See website for available shots.
