Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches provides residential care to children in need. It is for ages 8 through 18. Youth are cared for by "cottage parents" who helps them. The Salvation Army provides emergency shelter. It is for individual men and women who choose not to participate in their programs but just need a good night’s rest, a hot shower, and a hot meal. Stay is limited to 30 consecutive nights. Please contact for more information.

The Workers Program is for single men and women who may stay up to 30 days. Participants must have a steady job or be working day labor. Many clients transition into the Job Merit Program. Please contact for more information.

This shelter ministry provides safe housing for families and individuals who need a place to live. Some housing is for low-income families. Some housing is for those with disabilities. There are services for the homeless and Veterans. Please call or visit the website for more information.

The Family Residence keeps homeless families together while they regain stability in their lives. Families live in a home-like environment and perform daily and weekly house chores. They meet with staff members to determine what their specific needs are and to create a plan of action. Clients must call 211 first in order to be admitted. St. Petersburg Free Clinic Men's Residence provides temporary shelter to homeless men. Residents work on personal and employment goals. Clients can get clothing, personal care items and referrals.

The Women’s Residence offers safe and supportive transitional housing. This program is for single, homeless women who are capable of living independently. They must be drug and alcohol free. They must also be able to work and save money for future independent living. Please call for more information.

The Center of Hope is a program that provides housing for low-income and homeless people. The program is for those trying to attain self-sufficiency and permanent housing. Clients meet with a case manager who helps them create a personalized plan of action. The Center helps Veterans, the homeless and the working poor. They may stay for up to two years. The Night Shelter is an “in at night/out by morning” shelter for homeless men and women. Staff begins admitting new clients at 8:45pm. Returning clients sign in at 9pm. Clients are allowed to sleep in the Shelter for up to 21 consecutive nights, after which they must make room for new arrivals. After 14 nights “out,” they must be re-admitted if they haven’t found more permanent lodging. Please call for more information.

Ozanam Outreach helps individuals and families who are in dire need. They serve those living in the downtown St. Petersburg area. Please note that they DO NOT help with rental payments. However, they will refer clients to other agencies that do. Please call for hours.
