Senior Friendship Centers - Adult Day Care Services

Senior Friendship Centers offers Adult Day Care Services. Whether your loved one is frail, or has Alzheimer’s or other memory impairment, they are there to help. They will provide a safe environment for your loved one. Seniors will enjoy companionship and participate in programs and activities while you have time to care for yourself. Cost is $10 per hour. You can check for rates when you call. A sliding scale fee for individuals qualifying for assistance may be available. Contact for more information.

Senior Friendship Centers - Friendship Dining

Friendship Cafés provide nutritious, healthy food to people 60+. A suggested donation of $3 is asked to help cover the cost of the meals. While no one is denied a meal if unable to pay, the contribution helps to provide more meals for elders in the community. Contact for more information.

Senior Friendship Centers - Friendship Home Delivered Meals

Friendship Meals on Wheels offers nutritious meals delivered to your door. This is a good option for persons that are homebound or have just been released from the hospital. Or, those simply in need of good nutrition but are unable to cook for themselves. Meals are delivered daily, Monday through Friday, based on drivers’ schedules. Meals cost $5 per person or 7.50 for two meals delivered to the same address. Homebound individuals 60+ receiving case management services can receive meals through this program without charge or for a nominal donation. A one month advance deposit is required. Pay by check, debit or credit card. Call to sign up, or for more information.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) helps America’s disabled veterans and their families.

Assistance includes:

Caritas is a cooperative effort of several churches in downtown Sarasota. Churches vary based on schedule. They provide emergency assistance. Help is for those in acute financial need. Resources are limited. Contact for more information. The Center
Caritas has provided:

St. Paul Luther Church provides social ministry. Help is offered to anyone in need of aid in body or soul. Back to School Project gives school-age children supplies for school. Community Meals feed those in the community who don’t normally have access to hot, balanced meals. The community dinners are provided twice a month.
