LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) helps low-income households with the costs of heating and cooling their homes. Funds are given once a year. This is based on the clients gross income and household size. Priority is given to those age 60 or over, and/or person has a disability; and/or at least one child under 5 in the home. Goodwill-Suncoast operates five apartment communities. They provide affordable living options throughout their service area. Arnette House provides a safe and caring space to youth between the ages 12 - 17. They provide support beyond just food and shelter. Youth are taught basic life skills and self-reliance. This group offers emergency shelter for youth between the ages of 10 and 17. Their house is open to eligible kids 24/7. They give kids daily programs to support positive behavior. They also offer counseling and teach kids life skills. They help kids avoid substance abuse. They offer case management and help kids reunite with their families. They are also connected to medical care. Kids can do arts, crafts, and music. They also have access to outdoor recreation.
