KAIR is a USDA certified food pantry. They offer “Meals to Go” – pre-made meals for the homeless. They offer bags of groceries to those who have cooking facilities. They also offer food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmastime. The pantry is open five days a week during office hours or by appointment. Call for more information.

Domestic Abuse Shelter is able to provide transportation services for residents. Monroe County has no regular means of affordable transportation. With a van that DAS purchased, residents can now get to medical, child related, job related, etc. appointments. Call for more information.

Counseling is available over the phone or in person. You can get help alone or with a group. Services are for all backgrounds. Survivors can get mental health help. Everything is free and confidential.

The Domestic Abuse Shelter, Inc. provides emergency shelter in Monroe County. They offer refuge for victims of domestic and sexual violence and their children. Residents may stay at the shelter for up to six weeks.

Casa de Meredith offers long term housing with support as needed. This program is for women with or without children, or men with children and their family intact. Call for more information.

Kathy’s House provides temporary to long term housing. This program has supportive services and resources. It is for women with or without children.

The Mary Spottswood Women’s Center provides emergency shelter. This program is for women with or without children. Shelter is given for up to 90 days with full support and resources. This center is open 24/7 every day of the year. Call for more information.
