The NFK offers the Hawthorne Patient Assistance Fund. It offers short-term financial help. Help is for qualified kidney transplant recipients. And is to help meet the cost of kidney transplant related medications. While the patient looks for other long-term solutions. The money is paid directly to the pharmacy of the patient’s choice. FSYR offers a summer camp for youth ages 10-15. Kids can take part in many fun activities such as canoeing, archery and swimming. They have the chance to build teamwork and peer communication skills. They can also enjoy the tranquil outdoors. Campers will have the chance to interact with law enforcement personnel and volunteers and learn other social skills. Work Incentives and Assistance Program (WIPA) - Center for Independent Living of the Keys

CIL of the Keys is a SSA WIPA project. WIPA stands for Work Incentives Planning and Assistance Program. It helps people with disabilities get and use accurate information. This is so they can make a successful transition to work. Clients are aged 14 to 65. They must be getting either SSDI or SSI benefits. Please call or visit the website for more information.

Advocacy/Independent Living/Assistive devices

This group helps disabled people get services that follow the ADA. The ADA is a law. ADA means Americans with Disabilities Act.
Advocacy means to help or to speak up for another person. You can learn how to advocate (or speak up for yourself) and be independent.

•Provided for free: Loan out wheelchairs, shower chairs, walkers with wheels, computer equipment and other medical equipment.
