The Division of Early Learning is called DEL for short. It is a division of the Florida Department of Education. This division works to provide early learning services for children.

Programs Include:

  • Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R)
  • School Readiness (SR)
  • Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK)

Utility Bill Assistance - Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly

The Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program is known as EHEAP for short. It is offered by the Department of Elder Affairs which helps low-income households with at least one person age 60 and older. The help is for emergency energy related costs during the year. The payments are made directly to the vendor. Or by a two-party check to the vendor and client. Please call or visit the website to learn more.

PBC Hurricane Pet Friendly Shelter Pre-Registration

The Pet Friendly Shelter is available to Palm Beach County residents residing in a mandatory evacuation zone or in mobile homes. Proof of residency is required. Space is limited and restrictions apply. Pet owners are required to stay at the shelter. The shelter can accommodate approximately 300 people, 400 cats, 250 birds and small pocket pets, and 240 small and large dogs. Livestock and reptiles will not be accepted. Pets will be housed in separate area from people. Pet owners will be given a schedule to attend to their animal’s needs. Please call for more information.

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control

The shelter provides:

  • Enforcement of county, state, and federal animal laws
  • Reduced cost spay and neuter surgery
  • Humane euthanasia for injured and sick animals
  • Adoption and lost pet return for impounded animals
  • Safe shelter and veterinary care for lost, abandoned and unwanted animals

Shelter Hours:
Monday thru Friday - 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday - 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

PBC Prescription Drug Discount Card

We offer a discount card for prescriptions free of charge. Any county resident without prescription coverage can use this program. Even if you have insurance for prescription drugs, you may still benefit from the discount card. Please call for more info.
