Shepherd’s Hope provides health care for the uninsured. Doctors and nurses treat uninsured, low-income patients in need of non-emergency medical care. There are several locations in Central Florida. The visit is free. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis. Chronic diseases and conditions that need ongoing care will be referred to other clinics in the area.

Shepherd’s Hope partners with organizations to provide most diagnostic lab and x-ray services at no charge. Prescription assistance is also available.

The Health Department offers free or low-cost medical services. Services include immunizations, family planning, maternity care and child care education. They offer HIV/AIDS care, disease screening and testing, and much more.

CrossLife Church provides ministries that help the community. English as a Second Language Classes are available for those who need to improve their language skills.

This agency provides housing for low income families in Seminole County. They use the Public Housing Program and the Section 8 Program to provide rental aid to needy families. The Housing Authority hopes to move more families into the Home Ownership portion of the Housing Choice Voucher program. Their aim is to get more funding that may become available through the Family Self Sufficiency Program.

Note: The waiting list for Section 8 Housing is currently closed. The agency is accepting applications for Academy Place Villas (Public Housing). This is a group of 30 rental units in Oviedo. There is about a three-year wait.
