Seminole County Housing Authority

This agency provides housing for low income families in Seminole County. They use the Public Housing Program and the Section 8 Program to provide rental aid to needy families. The Housing Authority hopes to move more families into the Home Ownership portion of the Housing Choice Voucher program. Their aim is to get more funding that may become available through the Family Self Sufficiency Program.

Note: The waiting list for Section 8 Housing is currently closed. The agency is accepting applications for Academy Place Villas (Public Housing). This is a group of 30 rental units in Oviedo. There is about a three-year wait.

ACCESS LYNX

ACCESS LYNX is a shared ride program. It is a door-to-door transportation service. It helps people who can't use the normal fixed bus route. You can reserve a trip up to a week in advance. Please call or go to the website to learn more.

This agency helps low-income families become first-time homeowners. They provide information and resources to help families and individuals in any way that they can.

Their aim is to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing that is affordable. They can help with the down payment. They can provide pre-foreclosure counseling. They have many options for owning a home.

Stronger Families Training Program - Central Florida Urban League

The Central Florida Urban League has a program designed to support parental involvement and strengthen the family unit. They help provide access to jobs and training opportunities, job placement, life skills, parenting skills, and financial literacy workshops. They provide tools that are essential for parents to meet their children’s financial needs and emotional well-being.
