This program boosts job opportunities for clients at the Rescue Mission. They will learn to identify their skills, talents and abilities. Clients chart a new career path and build self esteem. The program consists of certification training and job placement. Students receive computer training, tutoring and many other services. They attend classes at the Acosta Adult Learning Center. This is an addiction recovery program at the McDuff Avenue campus. Clients live on campus for about 18 months. They must make a commitment to the program which will enable them to make a new life for themselves and for their families. Clients take part in a full range of education and recovery services. By blending music and art with a focus on education, they can inspire and empower children and teens to strive for their dreams. When the first shock fades, an intense and overwhelming grief may arise after the loss of a child to homicide. FOSCI helps by providing grief support groups and counseling. This group offers an educational alternative for troubled boys. It is a residential program. The program uses the waterfront as a therapeutic and educational tool. Each boy is given the mental, physical, and spiritual strength to succeed in life. The boys learn responsibility while living and working on a boat.
