Healthy Start of Central & North Florida Coalitions - The MIECHV/Parents as Teachers Program

MIECHV/Parents as Teachers is a free program for parents with infants and young kids in stressful life situations. They teach parents and caregivers skills to help their children be healthy, safe, and ready to succeed in school. This program is for families with kids up to age 3 in Alachua and Marion counties. The Connect Program is a referral program. They provide many programs and resources. Some programs include infant safety, family planning, child development, nutrition, and more. Early Steps

Children’s Home Society of Florida offers the Early Steps program. This program empowers families with children who have developmental delays. Services are available for children ages 0 to 3. They help navigate the challenges, celebrate milestones, and help children reach their full potential. Specialists work with the parents to build on their strengths. UF CARD offers services in 14 Florida counties. They are a team of professionals. That serve children and adults with autism and related disabilities. The services offered are free of charge.
