CARC - Advocates for Citizens with Disabilities, Inc. - Adult Day Training

CARC – Advocates for Citizens provides Adult Day Training. The following services and activities are available to support each individual and to help them achieve their goals:

  • Adult Basic Education provided by the Columbia County School Board
  • Arts and crafts
  • Assistance with personal care activities is provided on a one-to-one basis in the individual’s own home or family home or while individual is engaged in a community activity
  • Community activities and field trips
  • Outdoor sports
  • Personal Care Assistance
  • Social activities such as parties and dances
  • Specialized training in the activities of daily living, adaptive and social skills, and self-advocacy
  • Vocational training and paid work through the manufacture and sale of various products, retail work, and lawn maintenance (examples of assistance are meal preparation, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and other self care activities)

CARC helps Columbia County citizens with disabilities. They have a number of programs including housing and jobs. They have a group home that provides a family-like setting. There are respite care services for caretakers. The Adult Day Training program provides training and group activities. They can provide staff for local companies (lawn and product assembly).
