They have programs for youth that help them realize their full potential and stay in school. They offer housing and utility services to homeowners. They have educational services. The Night Shelter is an “in at night/out by morning” shelter for homeless men and women. Staff begins admitting new clients at 8:45pm. Returning clients sign in at 9pm. Clients can sleep in the Shelter for up to 21 consecutive nights, after which they must make room for new arrivals. After 14 nights “out,” they have to be re-admitted if no permanent lodging found. This Thrift Store has household goods, clothing, furniture and other items for free to those in need. This is done through their voucher system. Shoppers can find just about anything at bargain prices. Proceeds from the sales of all items go toward funding the Society's many programs. Please see the website for more information.
The Center of Hope is a program that provides housing for low-income and homeless people. The program is for those trying to attain self-sufficiency and permanent housing. Clients meet with a case manager who helps them create a personalized plan of action. The Center helps Veterans, the homeless and the working poor. They may stay for up to two years.
