A.F.I.R.E. of Pasco County - Adult Day Training

This agency helps developmentally delayed clients past the age of 22. Their goal is to promote independence so they can function within the community. Clients learn basic academics and can get computer training. They learn skills by going out into the community in small groups. They may go to the mall, library, grocery store or nursing home for hands-on learning and volunteer opportunities. They meet five days a week to reinforce everyday living skills.

A.F.I.R.E. has a day training program for developmentally disabled adults. They are over the age of 22 and no longer eligible for the public school system. Clients meets five days a week to reinforce everyday living skills. The goal is to function more independently in their community. One-on-one computer training, other academics, social skills and enjoy fun activities with their peers.

Youth Employment-Job Corps

This is a national, primarily residential training program. It is for young people ages 16 through 24. Job Corps' mission is to attract eligible young adults and teach them the skills they need to become employable. Students get academic training to suit their needs. They can get their GED. They can learn English. They can take Driver’s Education. They can get vocational training in several fields.

Kids Village Residential Treatment Program-Children's Home

Kids Village is a residential facility for abused and neglected children. They serve children ages 6 to 17. The home is for kids with emotional and behavioral issues. Residential services include individual, group, and family therapy. There is a school on campus. There are recreational activities such as swimming, basketball and tennis. They have a chapel, playground and educational center.

The children are encouraged to be a part of community activities. This could be a sports team, arts and crafts, music or science.
