NWF Health Network - Extended Foster Care & Independent Living Services

Extended Foster Care & Independent Living Services helps youth transitioning out of foster care. They offer options to receive support and assistance from age 18 to 23.

Services include:

  • Extended Foster Care (EFC) – provides young adults with case management services, judicial oversight, room and board, as well as any other services they need for success as independent adults.
  • Postsecondary Education Supports and Services (PESS) – available to young adults, whether not enrolled in extended foster care. Financial support is available to students enrolled in PESS to assist with living expenses and alleviate financial burdens while completing their higher education goals.
  • Aftercare Services – available to those not enrolled in EFC or PESS. These services are temporary and are designed to provide a safety net for young adults who need a helping hand.
