Healthy Start Program - Suwannee County Health Department
This program is for pregnant women and new mothers. All services are free. It is for any pregnant woman or baby from birth to age 3. The goal is to ensure a healthy birth for each baby and early health screenings for both mother and baby. Community agencies may refer clients. Women may also apply by themselves. - Breastfeeding education and support
- Childbirth classes and support
- Counseling
- Help to quit smoking
- Home visits by nurse or social worker
- Information about family planning, women's health and exercise
- Information about pregnancy and baby care

This agency provides many health services to the public. There are services for children and adults. Children ages 6 weeks through 18 years of age can get free vaccinations. Children and young adults up to age 20 can get free dental care if they have Medicaid. There are services for mothers with young children. There are school and teen programs.
