This agency is a Community Partner of DCF's ACCESS program. ACCESS is an internet-based way to apply for food stamps, Medicaid, and cash assistance. Their trained staff and volunteers can help you with the application process.
Free program available at most branches of the Alachua County Library District. This program serves adult English language learners and those who struggle with reading or are non-readers.
This group offers a variety of programs for adults who are blind or vision impaired. The programs are offered year-round. They can be in a group or individual basis depending on the needs of the client. Please call or visit the website for more information.
Programs Include:
Boys & Girls Club offers a structured after school and summer facility. It is for youth ages 6 to 18. Members can get homework help, play sports, learn life skills and more. Please call for more information, or visit www.bgcnf.org/about-alachua.
This group offers an after-school program. It offers tutoring and summer enrichment. It is for students in grades K-2. These students have scored below grade-level on county assessments. The program gives them extra attention. As well as the support they need to reach academic milestones. These milestones will help them be successful in school. This program provides carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other minor home repairs. They make these repairs to help the health and safety of the clients. Priority is given to low income elderly. Please call for more information.
This Center provides health, social, supportive and therapeutic day services for persons 60 years of age and over. There are also services for those with memory disorders. An initial intake and home assessment required. Please call the center for details.
