DACCO - Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office - Admissions

This agency has numerous services for those who have drug or alcohol dependencies. They have both inpatient and outpatient treatments. They have educational programs that have the aim of preventing drug and alcohol abuse.

Anyone can make a referral. New patients can walk in or make an appointment to do the initial assessment before being admitted. Each patient gets an individualized plan of action. Florida Medicaid and many insurance plans are accepted. There are payment plans for those who do not have insurance.

After treatment is complete, each patient gets follow up services.
There are inpatient residences for women, men and those going through drug detox. They have 24-hour, seven days per week supervision.

Diabetes Management Program - Devereux Florida

This group offers a diabetes management program. It is for children and adolescents with very severe behavioral problems. They also have diabetic health concerns. This program teaches them how to take control of their illness. It provides individual and group teaching. It also provides help with diet and exercise programs. Disability Resource Center - Center for Independent Living of North Central Florida

The agency is a disability resource center. They help individuals with disabilities exert their rights to live as independently as possible. Services & Programs Available:

Divine Mercy House - St. Joseph's Catholic Church

This is a shelter for pregnant women over the age of 18 with no other children in their care. The house can accommodate one woman with a child under five in certain cases.

Education and job training are provided so the women can get a GED or college diploma. They will develop specific job seeking skills so they will be more self sufficient. Each woman stays an average of six to eight months after her baby is born.

Office Hours are Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm. The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day.

Dixie County Health Department - Children's Services

This Health Department offers many services to children. They can get school physicals and shots. Mothers with young children can get WIC or enroll in the Healthy Start program.
