Our mission is to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope. As a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry that builds with people in need regardless of race or religion, we welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds.
HFH volunteers build houses for those who are currently living in substandard housing. Clients must first donate 350 "sweat equity" hours working on other projects. They must also be a resident of Columbia County. They must be able to afford a 0% mortgage. Please call for more information.
Hannah’s Maternity Transitional Housing is apartment-based living for homeless teens between 16-22 years old. These teens are pregnant or have given birth to their baby within the last six months. Services
TB Shelter is provided by Health Care Center for the Homeless. It is a residential shelter for homeless individuals suffering from tuberculosis. Medical, dental, and behavioral health services are provided. Food is also supplied. The average stay is 6 months. Call or click here for more information.
This group runs Helen’s House. It is a safe haven for women and children. The faith-based program helps women and children who are experiencing homelessness. They might be fleeing domestic violence or struggling with substance abuse. Please call or visit the website for more information.
Services Include:
Help Now of Osceola, Inc. provides temporary safe shelter for victims of domestic violence facing imminent danger. The location of the shelter is confidential. Visitors, residents, and staff must sign and upload a confidentiality statement. This will prevent them from telling the location of the shelter. Help Now will neither confirm nor deny whether any person is staying at the shelter. Children may stay with residents.

HEP offers up to 90 days of temporary housing and support services for those in need. The Emergency Dormitory provides beds for single adults. There is an emergency shelter for families. It includes 8 one-bedroom apartments. The Family Transition Program helps families get back on their feet and regain their self sufficiency. Please see the website for more information.

The Overnight Shelter provides up to 30 days of housing, food, clothing and support services. Clients are either linked to area resources or else move through HEP's other housing programs.
