Sunshine Line - Transportation

This program provides transportation and bus passes for seniors, low-income, or disabled people. Rides are for appointments, grocery trips, health and wellness, personal business and more.

Once enrolled, rides can be requested by calling Sunshine Line Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5PM. Trips can be made up to seven days in advance, but must be made no less than two days in advance.

THE Bus (The Hernando Express Bus) - Transportation

Bus transit system for Hernando County. Riders must have correct change, or present pass or tokens. Standard fares will be $1.25. Disabled, senior or student fares are $.60. Children under age 6 ride free if accompanied by a paying rider.

Tokens and monthly passes available at:

  • Brooksville City Hall
  • County Libraries
  • County Tax offices
  • Health and Human Services

Buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and bicycle racks. No animals allowed, other than trained service animals.

Pick up schedules on any of the buses at Hernando County Transit Management or at any of over 90 locations in the county.
