City of Jacksonville - Independent Living Program

This service helps frail, low to moderate income elderly in their homes. It offers training opportunities for volunteers. Senior Companions is for persons 60+ whose day to day assistance helps their peers live independently in their homes. In-home services are available for persons who do not have support from family and friends and need help in remaining in or taking care of their home. Transportation may be arranged through the program. There is no cost for services. Donations are welcome.

City Rescue Mission - LifeBuilders Addiction Recovery

This is an addiction recovery program at the McDuff Avenue campus. Clients live on campus for about 18 months. They must make a commitment to the program which will enable them to make a new life for themselves and for their families. Clients take part in a full range of education and recovery services. Each person is assessed and receives a program plan based on his or her own specific needs. Please call for more information.

City Rescue Mission - Thrift Store

The CRM Thrift Store offers clothing, baby items and furniture at bargain prices. You will also find antiques, electronics, artwork, collectibles and more. All proceeds from sales go directly toward helping the clients served by CRM. Seniors age 55+ get a 15% discount off of purchases every Monday. There are also daily and weekly specials. CRM also has pickup service for donated items.

Department of Corrections - Victim Services (VINE)

This program helps victims of crimes committed by Florida inmates. Through the VINE program, victims can sign up for an automatic notification service. Anyone may call the toll-free number to get an inmate's current location and release date. You may also register to learn when an inmate is released, transferred, escapes or dies. This agency offers help to pregnant women. All services are free to clients. Counselors provide a caring atmosphere where women can be educated about their choices.
