DMAB believes that the arts can be a bridge to a better life for underserved children. They blend music and art with after school programs to inspire and empower children and teens. Youth can take part in the Performing Arts Program. They gain cultural enrichment through field trips and interacting with guest artists. Please see the website for more information.

United Way offers workshops as part of the Born Learning program. These workshops help parents explore ways to enhance their child's development. UWNF provides parent education workshops that are simple, fun and interactive. All parents may attend. This includes those who have been court ordered to attend a parenting class. Parents with disabilities and those with low literacy levels may also come. UWNF provides information on the stages of development, nutrition, early literacy and more. Dentists and dental staff provide full dental services for children 3 to 20 years of age. They will see children between 1 and 3 on a case-by-case basis. Please see the website for the location nearest you.

Engaging playthings stretch young imaginations and develop motor skills. Shared stories and rhymes build language skills. Developing language skills are supported through meaningful conversation. Teachers expand on children’s ideas, and everyone explores new ideas together.

Children who live with violence are impacted by that violence--whether they were physically abused or not. HH helps them understand that violence is not their fault. They help children know what they can do should they be in danger and help them understand and express their feelings.
