Bridges of America - Jacksonville Work Release

This program can serve up to 140 inmates at a time. It gives participants the chance to get their lives back on track. They are employed during the day and work on substance abuse treatment, education and vocational courses at night. WR inmates pay a fee for their room and board. They also make court-ordered payments and send money home for family support. They are required to set money aside for savings upon release. Program offerings at each facility vary to best meet the needs of the men served. Please see the website for more information.

City Rescue Mission - Workforce Development

This program boosts job opportunities for clients at the Rescue Mission. They will learn to identify their skills, talents and abilities. Clients chart a new career path and build self esteem. The program consists of certification training and job placement. Students receive computer training, tutoring and many other services. They attend classes at the Acosta Adult Learning Center. Clara White Mission - Educational Programs/Job Training

These programs offer students two options. One is a culinary arts program. The other is a janitorial service program. Both have been certified by the Florida Department Commission of Independent Education. Clients get the chance to practice the skills that will prepare them for a career in these industries. Rethreaded

Rethreaded is a safe place where women are paid a living wage. Women in the program learn to become a seamstress. Donated t-shirts are turned into new creations and sold.
