This is an emergency assistance program. It helps those in danger of being homeless. You have to live in Gainesville or the surrounding counties to qualify. It is for those struggling with finances or those who need help with getting food. They have a food pantry you can go to once a month. They also help people having a hard time paying bills. FTRI provides specialized telephone equipment and ring signaling devices. The equipment is loaned to qualified, permanent Florida residents for as long as needed. These devices are loaned at no charge. Please call or visit the website for locations and more information.

GCM provides clothing to families who have lost everything due to a fire or other disaster. They also provide clothing for those who cannot afford to buy it due to a financial crisis. Clothing is provided every 3 months as needed for those in the program. Please call for more information.

Gainesville Community Ministry provides emergency food. This service is for the elderly, the disabled, and the working poor with families. It is offered during times when food is otherwise unavailable due to limited income. A 2 day supply is given to each member of the household every 30 days. You must apply in person. Monday through Thursday, 9AM to 2:30PM. A picture ID and Social Security Card, or Social Security print-out is required. You must show proof of need. Call for more information.
GCM can help with replacement ID's. Due to funding they can only offer this service to a client one time. The service is only provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00am to 1:00pm.
