Children’s Home Society of Florida provides Independent and Transitional Living. This program helps youth in foster care and young adults exiting foster care. Youth between ages 13 to 23 may be helped through independent living. Youth and young adults ages 18 to 23 may be helped through transitional living. Habitat For Humanity - Housing

Criteria for being chosen:

You have a need

  • You are currently living in substandard housing
  • You do not own my own home

You have the ability to pay

  • You do not have excessive credit card debt or multiple bills in collection
  • You have not declared bankruptcy or had a foreclosure within the past 3 years
  • You pay my rent on time

You are willing to partner with Habitat

  • Attend Habitat homeowner training classes
  • Contribute 250 hours of "sweat equity"
  • You are willing to live in an area where Habitat has homes
  • Pay $1200 towards closing costs
