The NKF offers the Direct Aid Program. It is meant to help patients who require financial assistance. This help can be to obtain food or medication. And to get treatment related transportation. Also, emergency assistance with housing and utility bills. There are eligibility requirements that must be met to participate in the program. A dialysis or transplant social worker must submit an application for the patient. The funding available is as a last resort. And should only be considered when all other options have been exhausted.
