St. Vincent de Paul - Center of Hope Transitional Housing

The Center of Hope is a program that provides housing for low-income and homeless people. The program is for those trying to attain self-sufficiency and permanent housing. Clients meet with a case manager who helps them create a personalized plan of action. The Center helps Veterans, the homeless and the working poor. They may stay for up to two years. St. Vincent de Paul - Night Shelter

The Night Shelter is an “in at night/out by morning” shelter for homeless men and women. Staff begins admitting new clients at 8:45pm. Returning clients sign in at 9pm. Clients are allowed to sleep in the Shelter for up to 21 consecutive nights, after which they must make room for new arrivals. After 14 nights “out,” they must be re-admitted if they haven’t found more permanent lodging. Please call for more information.

Utility Bill Assistance - Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly

The Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program is known as EHEAP for short. It is offered by the Department of Elder Affairs which helps low-income households with at least one person age 60 and older. The help is for emergency energy related costs during the year. The payments are made directly to the vendor. Or by a two-party check to the vendor and client. Please call or visit the website to learn more.

WestCare Foundation - Turning Point

Turning Point is an intervention and detox shelter. It provides services for the homeless with substance abuse issues. This shelter accepts inebriated adults directly from the street. It provides shelter and cold night shelter services to those who have not yet begun their journey towards recovery. Staff members offer supportive services, which may include referrals to other area agencies. Many clients transition into treatment at the Mustard Seed Inn.
