Housing ServicesLighthouse Ministries provides The Gospel Rescue Mission. They provide shelter to homeless and at-risk men as overnight guests. The shelter opens 3:30 PM daily. Lake Wales Care Center provides Transitional Housing. This program helps people and families in need. They get an apartment that is fully furnished. The Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program is known as EHEAP for short. It is offered by the Department of Elder Affairs which helps low-income households with at least one person age 60 and older. The help is for emergency energy related costs during the year. The Women's and Children's Shelter has 62 beds. They have a warm and safe environment. The services are for women and their children that are experiencing homelessness. Check in begins at 4:30 PM daily. This continues until the facility is full.

This agency runs several youth crisis shelters. They provide residential group care. The help is for youth between the ages of 10 and 17. These youth are runaways, homeless, or have been kicked or locked out by their parents or guardians. They may need short-term respite or crisis placement. They may also need emergency shelter due to abuse or neglect. There is no cost to families.
