ACL - Connecting People to Services

The Administration for Community Living or ACL for short. The group believes that services should be strong enough so individuals can be supported in their own home. Or other community-based settings. The group does not help people directly but has several programs to help connect them with services that do. These programs help older adults and people with disabilities. Helps them find supports and services that are needed to successfully live in their communities. Center for Independent Living of North Central Florida - Employment Services

This agency helps people with disabilities with a broad range of services. The goal is to enable them to live as independently as possible. Sign language interpreting services are available. Some Medicaid recipients may be eligible to transfer from a nursing home to their own home.

Mid Florida Community Services, Inc. - Community Care for the Elderly

This state funded program provides a community-based service which gives an alternative to nursing home or institutional care. To qualify for the various services, the client must be 60 years of age or over. They must also be functionally impaired. Fees are based on a sliding-scale. It is dependent on individual income and current expenses. In many cases, no fee is assessed. Call for more information.

This is a federally funded program for persons 60 years of age or over. However, the most needy of the community will be given priority. There is no fee for these services. Call for more information.
