This agency offers a variety of prevention services. These include case management and counseling. They also have substance abuse programs. These programs deal with prevention and intervention The group also has a program for children. It helps them work on their social and problem-solving skills. Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches provides residential care to children in need. It is for ages 8 through 18. Youth are cared for by "cottage parents" who helps them. The goal of Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) is to prepare all children age 4 for kindergarten. The program gives each child the chance to perform better in school and throughout life. The classes have smaller class size, appropriate curricula and substantial learning periods. The program is free. Please see the website for more information.
This state funded program provides a community-based service which gives an alternative to nursing home or institutional care. To qualify for the various services, the client must be 60 years of age or over. They must also be functionally impaired. Fees are based on a sliding-scale.
