Walton Okaloosa Council on Aging has Emergency Energy Assistance for the Elderly. It is a program for any senior over 60 years. Lutheran Services Florida - Adult Advocacy Services

Lutheran Services Florida provides services for elderly and disabled adults. LSF Guardianship Services helps protect them from abuse and neglect. Guardians are appointed by the courts. They will act on behalf of those who cannot handle their own affairs. Currently, the LSP Guardianship Program services individuals age 18 and over.

This may be due to:

  • Alzheimer’s Disease, or other age-related dementia
  • Developmental Disabilities
  • Mental Illness
  • Physical Injuries

LSF Guardianship Services include:

  • 24-Hour On-Call Availability
  • Assessment
  • Coordinating and Monitoring of Clients’ Physical, Medical, Rehabilitative, Social and Emotional Needs
  • Ensuring Clients’ Safe Living Conditions
  • Management of Clients’ Income, Assets, Benefits and Financial Affairs
  • Overall Case Management
  • Protection from Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation

SHINE - Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders

SHINE volunteers help Seniors with health insurance questions. They provide free information and unbiased counseling. Get Help with questions about: Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicaid, Prescription assistance, Long-term care insurance, and Medicare fraud. Meet with a SHINE volunteer at area counseling sites or by telephone. We can do home visits for those who are housebound.
