Hillsborough Literacy Council

The Council helps adults achieve basic reading and English comprehension skills. They are linked with the Tampa-Hillsborough Library System. The Library System provides meeting space in more than 20 libraries. Volunteers provide tutoring in Adult Basic Literacy. They teach adults how to read. Students must be at least 18 years old. They also teach English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes. English Practice meetings allow ESOL students to become more confident speaking and listening to English. They meet at several library locations.
