Children's Services - Hubbard House

Children who live with violence are impacted by that violence--whether they were physically abused or not. HH helps them understand that violence is not their fault. They help children know what they can do should they be in danger and help them understand and express their feelings. Children learn nonviolent conflict resolution skills so the violence will not be repeated in the next generation. Please see the website for more information.

Family Promise of Jacksonville

Family Promise works with homeless families to help them regain self sufficiency. The program is possible through the work of local congregations, dedicated staff and volunteers. Guest families use the Family Center each day to access social and other needed services. Guests can also get transportation to work and school as needed. Guests stay at a host congregation for one week. The Family Promise model of care costs 1/3 less to operate than a traditional shelter. Please see the website for more information.

  • 3 meals a day
  • Family Center office with internet access, guest phone, laundry and showers
  • Formerly known as the Interfaith Hospitality Network
  • Intensive case management
  • Linkage with needed social and educational services
  • Overnight accommodations at a local congregation
  • Social support from volunteers
  • Transportation assistance to school, work, etc.

Hubbard House

Hubbard House works to accomplish three main objectives. The first is safety for victims and their children. The second is to empower victims. The third is social change through education and advocacy. Hubbard House is the only certified domestic violence center serving Duval and Baker counties.
